Most likely the first words you will hear, if you walk up the stairs of the Tiew khao bungalows resort. Bungalow resort actually means a handful of wooden houses with bamboo walls on small sticks which move in the wind. If you pass the reception, where mama hands out the keys, an old man welcomes you with the word bamboo, bamboooo. To understand the meaning of these words, you will need a few seconds until you smell the sweet smoke of the local grown herb, smoked through a handmade bamboo bong. Welcome drink Tiew khao style.

This is the cheapest resort on the peninsula. You will need a few minutes to walk up from the beach, but you will find one of the most welcoming families on Ton sai. Highly recommended.
